Later I moved to self-hosted WordPress blog and started blogging more seriously. Soon I realized that AdSense is not generating much revenue for me. I started looking for other monetization ways for my blog.
And I found a lot of ways. Some of them work great for me.
If you don’t get AdSense approval, or you got banned, or AdSense doesn’t work for you, read on. In this post, I will be sharing 10 Proven Ways To Monetize Your Blog Without AdSense.
Let’s get started.

1. Other Advertising Networks
AdSense is still the best advertising network. But it’s not the only one. There are a plenty of Ad Networks for bloggers other than AdSense. And they are doing pretty good.
But it’s tough to say which ad network will work for you. Because what works for me, might not work for you and what works for you, might not work for me. It mainly depends on the nature of the blog.
In my research, I’ve found that Media.net performs better than others. But that might not be the same for you.

So what I’d recommend you to do some experiments with Ad Networks and find out what works for you. You can try these programs initially.

If you want to monetize your blog without Ads, Affiliate Marketing is the best way to do it. In fact, it is the most lucrative way to make money blogging. And it’s easier than you think.

Here’s how affiliate marketing works.

However, affiliate marketing takes time. You cannot expect quick success in affiliate marketing. There are some online courses that claim to make you multi-millionaire within no time. All of these are scams. Stay away from them.
To get success in affiliate marketing, work consistently on your blog. You can get started with affiliate marketing with affiliate networks like –

3. Selling Ad Spaces
It’s like direct advertising. You don’t need to have any third party. All you need to do is, convince the advertisers to put ad directly on your blog.
This way you will get the full control of ads like where and how the ads will appear. And you’ll get the full money.
But if you’ve just started a new blog, this might not be the right option for you. You need to have a decent traffic to attract advertisers.
Here are some tips to sell ad spaces on your blog:
- Create an ‘Advertise’ page with information of your Blog stats, Audience profile, Advertising options, etc.
- Use Ads Pro Plugin to manage your ads.
- Visit other blogs related to your niche and check who are advertising on those blogs. Try to contact those advertisers.
- Join forums like Digital Point to find advertisers.
- Contact with potential advertisers directly.
You can also try BuySellAds to sell your ad spaces. As a media, it will take a cut from your revenue.
4. Sponsored Posts & Reviews (But Don’t Sell Links)
Product owners or service providers pay bloggers to write about them. It could be a sponsored review or post.
In sponsored review, product owners will ask you to write a review of their product. And the sponsored post is about publishing paid post on a company or product. It may be written by you or by the advertisers.
There is no harm in publishing sponsored posts or reviews if you do it right. In fact, it can generate a good amount of money for you.
But you need to be careful about sponsored posts. Here are a few things you need to consider before writing sponsored reviews/posts.
- The post should be related to your niche.
- Never accept casino or gambling sites.
- Add “nofollow” tag to the advertiser link.
- Don’t write false information about the product/service.
- And disclose that it’s a sponsored post/review.
Here are some of the sites from which you can get Sponsored Posts.
5. Sell Your Own Digital Products
Selling your own digital products is another lucrative way to make money without AdSense. You create it once and you can sell it for unlimited times. That’s the beauty of digital products.
If you are following Harsh Agrawal’s blog, you might have already noticed that how much he is making by selling eBooks only.
Selling eBooks is just an example. Here are some other examples of digital products that you can sell on your blog.
- Course
- Design Work
- WordPress Theme/Plugin
- Reports
- Software
- Video Content
- Photographic Prints
- Excel Templates
- Website Templates and more.
You can use Easy Digital Downloads WordPress plugin to sell your digital products easily.
6. Sell Physical Products
Like digital products, you can also sell physical products on your blog.
Selling digital products can be a bit tougher. But if you have an engaged audience, it might be easier for you to sell physical products.
A great example is Legion Athletics who sells fitness products. Most of their sales come from the blog section.

10. Accept Donations
This is something that we don’t see that much these days. But it used to be a good source of income in earlier days.
However, you can still ask for donations, but in a different way. Here’s how Ilean Smith of BasicBlogTips do it. She asks her readers to pledge their support for her on Patreon. In return, she provides access to free courses, tools, consultancy, etc.

Yes, it’s very effective if you can do it right.
Really love “Selling Ad Spaces”.

Great! Let us know the result.
These are great sites to increase your bank balance through blogging but the base of all this still remains good content. Good content will give you traffic and this indeed will give you advertisers attention. Be it any type of advertising.
I recently revamped my website with responsive design, do have a look :) futuremagining.com
hi Sir
I love your blog
I was thinking about leaving adsense and wondering which other way could help since adsense was just working for my Entertainment, lifestyle niche blog https://holykey1.site . I’ve gotten some ideas now but don’t really know how to start. I have subscribed to you today. I will check my mail, but i hope your ebook will help me out. Aldo i have a question, which is the best way of monetizing an Entertainment niche blog or website? Thanks
Great post.
Hey that was nice article.
One query why don’t you use Google Adsense instead of media.net?
Are you getting more money from media.net advertisements as compared to adsense?
Amazing post i got and adsense account but they banned me for a month but now i can try with other alternatives i have my own site https://www.affiliatepromotional.com and i have everything in one place more like a one stop shop.
Great tips and resources! I was considering clickbank but I’ve heard that over the years they’ve had a lot of spam products to promote and that bloggers who use them end up giving customers a lot of refunds because what they bought doesn’t work well. What are your thoughts on clickbank?
You heard it right. Clickbank has a lot of spammy products. You can try ShareASale. It is my personal favorite.
Ok. I’ll check it out, Thanks!
Clickbank is really spammy and a lot of their products seem a little shady. There’s some good ones on there but it take so time to find them. The best part is they have so many products that you can find something appropriate for almost any site. I’d say that’s what draws most people to them.
It’s true. It’s tough to find the good products in Clickbank. I think ShareASale and CJ.com are the best affiliates networks for bloggers. Both are offering quality products.
I’m starting Affiliate Marketing, and this time, I’m pretty confident after reading this post, that I will be able to rank for my niche. Thanks for sharing all these alternatives though.
Take care! :D
Good luck! Hope you will start getting sales soon.
I just started affiliate marketing on my blog, i will try other ways too to know which one will work best for me. Thanks for sharing
Glad you found it useful. Let me know if you need any other help.
I have tried Adsense but not earning so much good money, will try other alternatives also. I will try my best to get future earning and this earning can borrow affiliate marketing also.
Hi Istiak,
After Adsense disapproved my website : http://latestnewsnetwork.com/
I tried to find an alternative just to try how it works, placed Chitika ads, because of their low payout, but until now i have no clicks because their ads are not relevant to the content at all. What alternative you recommend for a news site?
Also I have Amazon ads and other Clickbank products, every category has its relevant ads.
What do you think?
Thanx
Try Media.net.
That was a great post. Yes, precisely there a great deal several programs from which may earn an honest quantity of cash and a few cases earning with these programs is far effective than AdSense.
Here at RoadToBlogging, I stopped using AdSense because Affiliate Marketing works great for me.
I am a newbie blogger. I am using AdSense only. But I think I should run with affiliate marketing. Thank you Istiak.
That’s great. I think you’ll find this guide useful: A Step-by-Step Guide to Monetizing Your Blog With Affiliate Marketing
That was an awesome post. Yes exactly there a lot many programs from which can earn a decent amount of money and some cases earning with these programs is much effective than AdSense.
That’s true. Affiliate Marketing is working great for me.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH SHARE PLUGGING U INTEGRATED WITH YOUR BLOG?
Currently, I am using the built-in social media feature of Thrive Themes. However, I’ve already written a post about social media sharing plugins. You can check it here: https://roadtoblogging.com/social-sharing-plugins/
I mainly use Adsense, mostly because it’s the easiest to setup. I’ve started to dabble in Amazon links, mostly be reviewing the products I’ve needed to purchase. Amazon is nice because the minimum payout is quite low.
Hi bro thanks for sharing these valuable informations with us. i have a question about ad networks , its really revenuehits is the best adsense alternative?
It’s tough to say Revenuehits is the best AdSense alternative. But it is one of the best. In the post AdSense alternatives, I’ve added a poll where visitors can vote on their favorite AdSense alternative. Most of the visitors voted Media.net as the best AdSense alternative. Revenuehits is on the second place.
Great post sir,
I am a new blogger with no AdSense ads on my blog but have earned my 1st income through affiliate marketing only and I Know it works better than per click ads if you develop trust. :-)

Do some research on gaming blogs and check how they monetize their blogs.
Hi,
Yesterday I have bought a domain in godaddy.com and hosted my website which is previously on blogger. I applied for adsense and i have placed few adds on my website. After 1 hour, I received an email stating that my adsense is disapproved because of my youtube adsense account with other gmail. It states that a person should not have more than one adsense account. I felt disappointed and then deleted that adsense account and added my website to already existing youtube adsense account. It is a hosted account. It is not showing any ads on my website. I can not log in to my old adsense account. Does my adsense will get approved or not. Felt disappointed. Then this post give real energy to work on. Thanks for sharing valuable info.

Informative, all tips are very informative for newbie like me. But is there any way to increase infolinks earning, iam getting very low, rate. thanks for such a nice article.
Hey Istiak,
You have shared a great post. It’s a must read for every blogger who aims to earn from blogging and it’s a great guide for newbie bloggers. Here, I am sharing my experience, AdSense has always been a secondary source of income for me. My best bet has been affiliate marketing and it still constitutes the major share of my blogging income.
I have tried many affiliate programs, but since my website is focused on website designing, thus web hosting affiliate programs have worked best for me, most beneficial being the Easy Affiliate program by ZNetLive – https://www.znetlive.com/web-hosting-affiliate-program/.
I recommend emerging bloggers to focus on affiliate marketing, it a great source to make money by blogging.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Istiak Rayhan,
Very well written article, thanks for the information and keep writing such amazing articles.
I am great fan of your blog, thanks.
Thanks for your kind words.
Hi Istiak ,
First of all, I want to say thank you for this post. I have a question in my mind and I am looking for a suitable answer.
Can I use Google Adsense and Infolink at same time in my blog?
Does Infolink make any bad effect to google adsense?
And one more thing, I am also trying to start affiliate marketing. But I don’t have proper knowledge, How many visitor I need to start?
You can use Adsense and Infolinks at the same time. It won’t affect to Adsense.
Talking about Affiliate Marketing, you can make money from Affiliate Marketing if you have 100 visitors daily. But those visitors have to be targeted visitors and have to have potential to buy things from online.
Thanks for the reply Istiak
Yes I have more than 5000 visitor per day in my blog.
In that case can i use Ad sense , Info links and affiliate all at a time. ?
Where should i go for affiliate? Amazon , Click sure, Click bank or any where
Yes, you can use all of them at the same time.
If you think you can sell physical products, then try Amazon. For digital products, try Shareasale, ClickBank, Commission Junction etc.
Nice list you got here, Istiak. Totally agree with you that bloggers need to look beyond AdSense to make some serious long-term income from blogging. While I am using affiliate marketing currently, but my long-term goal is to sell own products. It’s the most effective way to earn online income since you can control the product quality, pricing, and delivery as well.
As you have mentioned about sponsored post here, I would like to suggest https://www.blogmint.com a new platform which focuses on getting Indian bloggers in touch with Companies looking for sponsored post. I am not affiliated to this website, merely mentioning it because I came across it, and while it’s not much relevant to my niche, maybe some of your blog audience might find it useful.
I have also a plan to launch my own products. Now I am on my way to building an awesome audience. However, thanks for sharing the new platform.
Hi Istiak bro,
Thanks for this exclusive 5 methods of earning without adsense.
Me also choose affiliate marketing over adsense. because adsnese have too many restriction and low CPC rates (Asian countries)
Absolutely agreed with you, that affiliate marketing is not as hard as it sounds.
I think choosing affiliate marketing or selling own product these two are the best ideas to make money online.
Regards,
Hamim
Yes, Affiliate Marketing is the best monetization way if you have targeted traffic. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Rayhan Bro,
Thanks for the awesome content.
I think, Affiliate Marketing is one of the great earning source to make money online. I start my blogging journey with the passion to make money with Google Adsense. I tried to make some money from Adsense using my several blogs with different niche. But I fail to generate a handsome figure from Adsense.
Then one of mine friend suggest me to try Affiliate Marketing and now Per month I Got a handsome figure from Amazon Affiliate Marketing and MyThemeShop Affiliate.
My story is the same as yours. I failed to generate revenue from Adsense and started Affiliate Marketing. And it works GREAT for me. The main reason behind writing this post was to let bloggers know that it is possible to make money without Adsense.

Hi istiyak,
This article is really helpful for those who are newbie or for those who did not start earning from there adsense account. they can move on some other option too. thanks for the excellent article
Yes, newbie need to know that Adsense is not the only option to make money blogging.
Hello Istiak !
Google adsense is just a small part of earning money in this big blogosphere . This is a hype among many newbie bloggers that without adsense , earning money is tough ! This is absolutely wrong !
Infact Affiliate marketing if done properly can give you hundreds times more income than adsense . I personally use clickbank .
All the experienced bloggers like neil patel , brian dean etc do not depend on adsense . They all maintain their email list . Thats how they make money .
Infolinks and chitika are a great alternative to adsense as per my experienced ! I have used both of them and have got wonderful results !
I loved reading this post ! It was worth reading !
Happy Blogging !
Totally agree with you. Adsense requires a lot of traffic to generate a decent amount of income. On the other hand, affiliate marketing can generate a good amount of money with some targeted traffic. Most of my income from this blog come from affiliate marketing.
However, Thanks for reading and commenting.
Thanks for sharing…! Actually, I found that Adsense is the most popular ways to make money from blog. However, my means is that not many people could make money from Adsense. The reasons are that they did not able to get approval from Adsense, or sometimes their Adsense account got banned.
Google is strictly in implement their business. You know..? Last 2 years, my Adsense account was banned, and it is the single income stream of my blog. I feel suck with blogging, but it is a great opportunity came after disaster.
I tried to find some ways to make money from my blog, and I started to learn about how pro blogger made money with affiliate. I earn from affiliate marketing and sponsored advertising.
Last year, I got my Adsense account back both extra income sources. Thanks for sharing..!
That’s why I mentioned “Never put all your eggs in one basket” quote. It’s always a good idea to diversify the income. However, glad to know that you get your Adsense account back.
