SiteGround is one of the most reliable web hosts which is officially recommended by WordPress.org. If you’ve decided to buy SiteGround hosting for your WordPress blog/site, you’ve taken the right decision.
However, SiteGround is also a good choice for other CMSs like Joomla, Magento, Drupal, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, etc. Now the great news is, you can get over 60% discount on SiteGround Hosting.

SiteGround doesn’t have any coupon code option on their cart page. If you’ve found any SiteGround Coupon Codes online, stay away from them. Those are fake.
Now I’d like to give some money saving tips on SiteGround.
Tips To Save Money On SiteGround
I have already talked about how to save money on web hosting. But those are general tips. Here I’ll be sharing specific money saving tips for SiteGround Hositng. If you follow these tips, you will be able to save over $100.
1. Choose The Hosting Right Plan & Save Money
SiteGround mainly offers 4 types of web hosting services – Web Hosting (Shared Hosting), WordPress Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, & Cloud Hosting.
The ‘Web Hosting’ and ‘WordPress Hosting’ are the most affordable services. Both come with the same price tag. The only difference is, the ‘Web Hosting’ supports all CMSs like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc and the ‘WordPress Hosting’ is only optimized for WordPress.
If you are going to buy hosting for WordPress, then I’d definitely recommend you to buy ‘WordPress Hosting‘.
The WordPress Hosting service has 3 plans – StartUp, GrowBig, & GoGeek. All of them come up with different pricing plans.
The main difference between StartUp and GrowBig is, StartUp allows you to host only one site when you can host multiple sites on the GrowBig plan. And the GoGeek plan is designed for high traffic sites.
If you are going to create only one site, then go with the StartUp plan. You can upgrade to the GrowBig or GoGeek plan later if needed. And the upgrade is free.
2. Buy The Domain Name From Namecheap
SiteGround costs $15.95/year for a domain name which is pretty high.
You can save a good amount of money by buying the domain name from Namecheap. It usually costs $10 – $12 per year. But for the first year, you can register a domain name as low as $0.48.
Find a domain starting at $0.48

If you are wondering if it’s possible to buy a domain name from Namecheap and use it on SiteGround, here’s the answer.
Yes, it’s possible. You can register a domain name from Namecheap and host it on SiteGround. In fact, I always recommend my readers to buy domain and web hosting separately. It’s good for security. And you will have less hassle if you switch your host.
Once you buy the domain name from Namecheap, you need to check on “I already have a Domain” while signing up and enter your domain name.
3. Buy Hosting Service For A Longer Period
SiteGround has two types of pricing – Promotional Pricing & Regular Pricing.
The promotional price is the sign-up price and the regular price is the price that starts after the first renewal.
SiteGround doesn’t offer any discount on Renewal. That means if you buy the StartUp plan for $47.40 for 12 months, next year you will have to pay $143.4.
So for 24 months hosting, you will have to pay – $47.40 + $143.4 = $190.8.
But if you buy hosting for 24 months while signing up, you have to pay $94.80. That means you can save $96.
So try to buy hosting for a longer period.
4. Drop The Extra Services
SiteGround offers some extra services time to time. For now, they are offering a service called “SG Site Scanner” which costs $19.80 per year. I think it’s something that you don’t need.
If you are going to use WordPress, you can use plugins like Sucuri Security for malware scanning.
Most of the Extra Services offered by web hosts are useless. So drop these extra services.
5. Try SiteGround Student Web Hosting
If you are a student, try SiteGround Student Web Hosting. It comes up with a very cheap price. You can buy the first year hosting for just $23.88.
You can learn more about Students Plan from here.
