Baby Plan is the most popular shared hosting plan offered by HostGator. It’s affordable. You can host as many domains as you want. And the best part is, it comes with 45-day money back guarantee.
I started my blogging journey with HostGator Baby Plan and used it for straight 3 years. Later I moved to HostGator Optimized WordPress Hosting.
In my 3 years of experience, I can say that HostGator Baby Plan is the right choice for you if you’re going to host multiple sites with decent traffic.
To help you to make the right decision, here’s a quick review of HostGator Baby Plan.
HostGator Baby Plan Features
HostGator shared hosting has 3 plans – Hatchling Plan, Baby Plan and Business Plan. Baby Plan is the most popular plan and HostGator also recommends it officially.
These are the main features of the Baby Plan –
- Unlimited Websites: You can host as many domains as you want. This is actually the basic difference between the Hatchling and Baby plan. The baby plan lets you host one website whereas you can host unlimited sites on the Baby plan.
- One-Click WordPress Installation: HostGator makes it insanely easy to create a WordPress site with its one-click installation.
- Free Website Transfer: If you’re using another web host, don’t worry. HostGator support team will transfer your site for free.
- Unmetered Disk Space & Bandwidth: This means you will not be charged according to the amount of disk space and bandwidth you use. In other words, you don’t need to worry about disk space and bandwidth.
- Free SSL Certificate: You can show your visitors that your site is secure by using the free SSL certificate.
- Free Domain Name: If you buy web hosting for 12, 24, or 36 months, you’ll get a free domain name.
- 99.9% Uptime Guarantee: HostGator guarantees 99.9% uptime. If your site is not up 99.9% in any one month, they will issue a one-month service credit to your account.
- Free Ads Credit: You will get free $150 Google Adwords credit and $100 Microsoft Ads credits.
- Unlimited FTP Accounts: You will get unlimited FTP account access.
- Email Hosting: You’ll be able to create an email address with your domain name for free.
- 24*7 Customer Support: You’ll get 24/7/365 Premium Support via Phone, Live Chat, and Email.
There are some others features too. But I believe above features are more than enough to run and manage a blog or small business website.
HostGator Baby Plan Pricing
Whether you are a blogger or a small business owner, HostGator Baby Plan can be your best choice. It is the most affordable hosting plan. Let’s see the price of HostGator Baby Plan.
Duration | Regular Price |
---|---|
1 Month | $12.75 |
3 Months | $38.22 |
6 Months | $76.43 |
12 Months | $63.96 |
24 Months | $108.73 |
36 Months | $134.33 |
You can see the 6 months duration costs you more than the 12 months duration. On top of that, you’re missing the free domain name if you choose 6 months. So it’s better to buy hosting for 12 months or more.
HostGator Baby Plan Pros & Cons
I’ve used HostGator Baby Plan for 3 years. The only issue I faced with HostGator was, 2 or 3 frequent downtimes within few months. That was the only reason for leaving Baby Plan. Currently, I am using HostGator Optimized WordPress Hosting. I’ve not faced any downtimes for last 5-6 months. I am pretty sure that you will not face any major downtime too. Even if you face any downtime, you can demand one (1) month of credit for that package.
However, here are the pros and cons of HostGator Baby Plan based on my personal experience.
Pros:
- You can host as many domains as you want.
- The price is very reasonable.
- WordPress installation is very easy.
- Their tech support is very good.
- Uptime guarantee makes sure that you’re not loosing your money.
Cons:
- You’ll have to wait in a long queue in the live chat.
Is HostGator Baby Plan the Right Choice for You?
The answer is YES if you want to create multiple sites and host your site in a world-class web hosting company.
If you’re not 100% sure, I’d recommend you to take the 45-day money back guarantee offered by HostGator. You can claim your money back if you’re not happy with their services. However, read the terms of money back first.
I hope this post helped you to take a decision. If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to ask us via comment.
