Whenever someone comments on a blog, s/he have to enter an email address in the required field. The only thing that the email does is, show the Gravatar of the commenter.

But do you know that you can export commenters’ email addresses from WordPress?

Yes, you can do it by using a plugin. In fact, you can build your networks if you have a good amount of comments on your blog.

In this post, I’ll show you how to export email addresses from WordPress comments and use them to build your networks.

How to Export Emails From WordPress Comments

Let’s see how to exports all email addresses from WordPress comments.

1. At first, you need to install and activate the plugin “Commenter Emails“.

2. Once you’ve activated the plugin, go to Comments > Commenter Emails. You will find all approved commenters’ email addresses there.

3. Then scroll down to the bottom and click on “Download” button to download the email addresses as a CSV file. Check the option “Include commenter website?” to export URLs of the commenters.

4. You can also extract emails from selected posts. Just go to top of the page and use the “Help” tab. Then enter post IDs with a separated comma. And click on “Apply”.

That’s it. You’re done!

How to Build Your Networks Using These Email Addresses

As these people have commented on your blog, there is a chance that most of these people are your targetted audience. You can add them on your social media to build your networks.

Most of the social networks (except Facebook) allow you find friends based on your Gmail contacts.  Now the good news is, you can easily import these emails to your Gmail contacts.

Just go to Gmail and click on ‘Contacts’ from Gmail.

You’ll find your all existing contacts on the landed page. Now click on “More” and select “Import”.

A box will be popped up. Just select “CSV or vCard file”.

Google might ask you to go to the old contacts. If so, click on “GO TO OLD CONTACTS”.

On the next page, click on “Import Contacts”.

A box will be popped up. Choose your file and click on “Import” button.

Your Contacts will be uploaded shortly.

Now let’s see how to connect with the commenters on Social Media.

1. LinkedIn

Go to LinkedIn and select “Add Contacts” from “My Network. And click on Gmail.

Allow LinkedIn to access your Gmail account. Then it will import contacts from Gmail. You don’t need to add all contacts. Just add the contact with profile pictures or those contacts that seems known to you.

A lot of these people will add you back.

2. Twitter

Go to Twitter and click on “Find people you know”.

On the next page, click on “Search contacts” besides Gmail.

Allow Twitter to access Gmail. And it will show the people who have Twitter account on your Gmail contacts.

    I need your help. I have a good domain name. wpfuture.com. But the problem is twitter username ‘wpfuture’ which is already taken by someone. The person had never tweet yet. Is there any way to get this username? Please help me! Thanks in advance.
