Your phone can be a serious blogging tool. With the right apps you can capture ideas the moment they hit, draft posts on the bus, reply to comments, check your traffic, and design a quick social graphic, all without opening your laptop.
Here are 12 Android apps I recommend for bloggers in 2026. All are free to start, and some have premium upgrades. Updated October 2026: Pocket was shut down by Mozilla in 2025 and SERPmojo is no longer available, so both were replaced.
1. WordPress and Jetpack

The official WordPress app works with both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Write and edit posts in the block editor, upload photos, and, most useful of all, moderate and reply to comments on the go. Automattic\’s Jetpack app adds stats, notifications, and the Reader if your site uses Jetpack.
2. Raindrop.io
Pocket used to be the go-to read-later app, but Mozilla shut it down in 2025. Raindrop.io is a great replacement: save articles, videos, and research for your next post into collections, tag them, and find them from any device. Instapaper is a simpler alternative.
3. Todoist

Todoist is the only to-do list app I have stuck with. Add tasks in plain language (“Publish post every Tuesday”), organize them into projects, and they sync instantly across every device.
4. JotterPad

Writing on a phone used to be painful until I found JotterPad. It is a clean, distraction-free editor with Markdown, night mode, typewriter scrolling, and cloud sync, perfect for drafting posts away from your desk.
5. Productivity Challenge Timer

This timer is based on the Pomodoro Technique: focus for 25 minutes, take a short break, and take a longer break after four rounds. It adds ranks, achievements, and stats per project, which makes staying focused feel like a game.
6. Udemy

Udemy has courses on almost anything, from SEO and copywriting to photography. The app lets you download lessons for offline viewing, so you can learn during your commute.
7. Google Analytics
Check your traffic anywhere. The Google Analytics app shows real-time visitors, top pages, traffic sources, and trends for your GA4 property.
8. Trello

Trello organizes projects as boards, lists, and cards. I use it for my editorial calendar: ideas, writing, editing, and published, moving each post across the board.
9. Canva
Canva\’s mobile app lets you create featured images, Pinterest pins, and social posts from templates in minutes, with AI tools to remove backgrounds and edit photos.
10. Grammarly Keyboard
The Grammarly keyboard checks spelling, grammar, and tone as you type in any app, which is handy when you draft posts, emails, and social updates on your phone.
11. Microsoft SwiftKey

If you prefer a fast keyboard without Grammarly, SwiftKey learns your writing style to predict your next word, supports swipe typing, and now includes AI features from Microsoft.
12. Water Drink Reminder

Not a blogging app, but an important one. I tend to forget to drink water when I am deep in writing. This app reminds you throughout the day, and it works with smartwatches too.
Tips for Blogging From Your Phone
- Use your phone for ideas, outlines, and first drafts, and your computer for final editing and SEO.
- Turn off notifications from social apps while you write.
- Sync everything (notes, tasks, drafts) to the cloud so you can pick up on any device.
