How to Create a Free Email Account With Your Own Domain Name

Create a free email account with your domain name

An email like you@yourblog.com looks far more professional than yourblog@gmail.com. It builds trust with readers, sponsors, and affiliate managers. If you have web hosting, you can usually create one for free.

Method 1: Create Email in Your Hosting cPanel

  1. Log in to your hosting account and open cPanel (or your host’s email section).
  2. Under Email, click Email Accounts.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Choose your domain, enter a username (like hello or yourname), and set a strong password.
  5. Click Create.

You can now read your email in webmail (click Check Email next to the account), or connect it to an email app on your phone or computer using the settings under Connect Devices.

Method 2: Forward Domain Email to Gmail

If you prefer to read everything in Gmail, set up a forwarder.

  1. In cPanel, go to Email > Forwarders.
  2. Click Add Forwarder.
  3. Enter the address to forward (like hello@yourblog.com) and your Gmail address.
  4. Click Add Forwarder.

If your domain uses Cloudflare, its free Email Routing feature does the same thing without hosting email.

Method 3: Send From Your Domain Address in Gmail

Forwarding only handles incoming mail. To reply as you@yourblog.com from Gmail, go to Gmail Settings > Accounts and Import > Send mail as > Add another email address. Enter your domain email and your host’s SMTP details (shown in cPanel under Connect Devices). Gmail sends you a confirmation code to finish.

Tips for Reliable Email

  • Make sure your domain has SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Most hosts set these up, and they help your emails avoid spam folders.
  • Do not use your hosting email for newsletters. Use an email marketing service instead.
  • Use a strong password, since hacked email accounts are often used for spam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a free email with my own domain?

Yes. Most web hosting plans include free email accounts you can create in cPanel.

Can I use Gmail with my own domain?

Yes. Forward your domain email to Gmail and use Send mail as to reply from your domain address. For full Gmail with your domain, use Google Workspace (paid).

Why do my domain emails go to spam?

Usually because SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records are missing. Ask your host to check them.

What is the best address to use?

Short and simple, like hello@, contact@, or your first name.

    Hey Istiak,

I see this article is kinda old. What about google domains? I own my domain, however it looks google pushes you to pay for an additional monthly gsuite subscription in order to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Nice guide Istiak :)

By the way, it is also possible to access your custom emails from your Gmail account using POP (without using forwarders). You can also reply to those emails from Gmail itself.

    Hi Istiak,

thanks for this useful tutorial. I got my own blog email some time ago and it really helps with credibility. If somebody asks you or you apply for any service an email adress coming from your own blog rather than free gmail account looks just more serious.

I spend a lot of time building my blog, so if somebody checks it out because of my email adress I’m sure they will find it valueable.

    Cheers,

    Phil
