Signing Up for Bluehost
Before installing WordPress, you need to sign up for Bluehost. It’s very easy. Just follow these simple steps.
At first, go to Bluehost.com (aff. link) page. It’s a promo link. If you follow this link, it will show a discounted $2.95/month offer. Then click on ‘Compare Plans Now’ button.
Bluehost has 3 plans – WordPress Hosting, WP Pro, and ECommerce. As you are going to create a WordPress blog, I’d recommend you to go with the most basic plan – WordPress Hosting.
WordPress Hosting has 3 different plans – Basic, Plus, and Choice Plus.
On the next page, you need to select a plan. Bluehost offers 3 plans on its shared hosting – Starter, Plus, Business Pro.
If you are going to create only one blog, then you can go with Starter plan. But if you are planning to create multiple blogs, then go with Plus plan. Business pro plan is mainly for business site.
If I were you, I would select the Plus plan.
Then you need to enter your desired domain name. Your domain name should be simple, easy to remember and easy to spell.
Bluehost offers a free domain name with your hosting package. Take this advantage. Enter your domain name and click on ‘next’.
On the next page, you need to enter you account information, billing information, and package information.
On account information, give your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address etc. Make sure you put all information correctly. Sometimes they may verify the details.
On the package information, select your account plan. If you buy hosting for the longer period, you will save more money. I’d suggest you to go with 36-month plan. Make sure to Uncheck the options from Domain Privacy, SiteLock, Search Engine Jumpstart etc. You don’t actually need those.
On the billing information, select your payment method from Credit card or Paypal. If you don’t see the Paypal option, click on ‘More payment options’.
Click on ‘Next’. And you will be taken to the Paypal payment page or Credit Card order page.
Complete your payment. Your account will be activated automatically and you will get a confirmation message to your email.
Before you log in to your account, you need to choose a password for your account. Just click on the “create your password” button.
Then enter your password and click on “Next” button.
It will show a congratulations message.
